  • Advocacy organizations
  • Lobbyists and government affairs professionals
  • Businesses tracking regulatory changes
  • Journalists covering the legislature
  • Engaged citizens
  • Researchers and academics

How is BillBee different from other legislative tracking tools?

BillBee offers:

  • Affordable pricing - 10-50x cheaper than enterprise alternatives
  • AI-native approach - 5 different summary types generated by AI
  • Real-time updates - Hourly data syncs, not daily
  • BeeScore ratings - Proprietary impact scoring to prioritize your attention

Bills & Tracking

How many bills can I track?

  • Free Plan: Up to 3 bills
  • Citizen Plan: Up to 10 bills
  • Professional Plan: Unlimited

What is BeeScore?

BeeScore is BillBee's proprietary bill impact rating system. Each bill is scored 0-100 based on five weighted factors: Who's Affected (20%), Policy Change (25%), Fiscal Impact (20%), Controversy (20%), and Urgency (15%). Bills are grouped into Low (🐝, scores 0-35), Medium (🐝🐝, scores 36-65), and High (🐝🐝🐝, scores 66-100) impact tiers.

Can I track bills from previous sessions?

Yes, you can search and view bills from previous legislative sessions. Tracking and alerts are available for current session bills.

What happens when a bill dies?

The bill remains in your tracked list with a "dead" status. You won't receive further alerts unless the bill is revived or reintroduced.

How do I find bills on a specific topic?

Use semantic search with natural language queries like "bills affecting small businesses" or browse by policy category. All users can save searches (limits vary by plan) for topics they follow regularly.

Semantic search (available to all users) uses AI to understand your intent and find relevant bills even if they don't contain your exact keywords. Full-text search (paid plans) searches the actual bill text for specific terms and phrases.

Legislators & Committees

How do I find my legislators?

Go to Legislators and enter your address to find your Kansas House and Senate representatives, or search by name.

Can I track committees?

Yes, all users can track committees (Free: 2, Citizen: 10, Professional: unlimited) to receive updates when bills are assigned, hearings are scheduled, or votes occur.

How do I see how a legislator voted?

Go to the legislator's profile and click the Votes tab to see their complete voting history. You can also view vote breakdowns on individual bill pages.

AI Features

What AI summary types are available?

  1. Headline (≤60 chars) - Ultra-brief for notifications
  2. Short (≤280 chars) - Social media length
  3. Medium (1-3 paragraphs) - Email digest format
  4. Full (500-2000 words) - Comprehensive analysis
  5. Social Posts - Platform-optimized content for Twitter, LinkedIn, Bluesky

Free users can unlock 5 full summaries per day (24-hour access each). Paid users have unlimited access.

How accurate are the AI summaries?

AI summaries are designed to help you quickly understand bills, but they are interpretations, not official documents. For critical decisions, always review the actual bill text.

Can I trust the AI analysis?

AI analysis is a tool to assist your research. For legal, financial, or policy decisions, consult with appropriate professionals and verify with official sources.

How are summaries generated?

BillBee uses advanced large language models (GPT-5.2) to analyze bill text and generate plain-language summaries. Summaries are updated when bills are amended.
