Bill Status Overview

Kansas bills move through many stages. BillBee tracks all of them:

Origin Chamber

  1. Introduced - Bill is filed
  2. In Committee - Assigned to committee for review
  3. Floor - Scheduled for floor debate
  4. Passed - Bill passes the originating chamber
  5. Killed - Bill fails in originating chamber

Second Chamber

  1. Sent to Other Chamber - Transmitted for consideration
  2. In Committee - Assigned to second chamber committee
  3. Floor - Second chamber floor debate
  4. Passed - Bill passes second chamber
  5. Killed - Bill fails in second chamber

Final Stages

  1. Conference - Resolving differences between chambers
  2. Concurrence - Chambers agreeing on final version
  3. Sent to Governor - Awaiting executive action
  4. Governor Signed - Signed into law
  5. Governor Vetoed - Rejected by Governor
  6. Veto Overridden - Legislature overrides veto
  7. Veto Sustained - Veto stands
  8. Enacted - Becomes law
