From a Legislator Profile

  1. Open a legislator's profile page
  2. Click the Votes tab
  3. Browse their complete voting history

From a Bill Page

  1. Open any bill that has received a floor vote
  2. Scroll to the Votes section
  3. See how each legislator voted

Vote Types

Kansas legislators can vote in several ways:

Yea (Yes)

The legislator voted in favor of the bill or motion.

Nay (No)

The legislator voted against the bill or motion.

Present

The legislator was present but chose not to vote yes or no. This is sometimes used when a legislator has a conflict of interest.

Absent

The legislator was not present for the vote. This may be due to illness, other commitments, or absence from the chamber.

Vote Details

Each vote record includes:

  • Bill Number - The legislation being voted on
  • Bill Title - Brief description of the bill
  • Vote Date - When the vote occurred
  • Vote Type - Floor vote, committee vote, procedural vote
  • Chamber - House or Senate
  • Final Tally - Overall Yea/Nay count
  • Outcome - Whether the motion passed or failed
