The Campaign Finance feature is currently under development and will be available in a future update. The documentation below describes the planned functionality.

Search for individual and organizational donors to Kansas political campaigns and view their complete contribution histories.

Searching for Donors​

By Name​

  1. Go to Campaign Finance > Donor Search
  2. Enter a donor name in the search box
  3. View matching results
  4. Click on a donor to see their full profile

Search Tips​

  • Partial names work - "John" finds "John Smith", "Johnson", etc.
  • Organizations too - Search for company or organization names
  • Try variations - "Bob" vs. "Robert", "Inc." vs. "Incorporated"

Donor Profiles​

Each donor profile shows:

Contribution Summary​

  • Total amount contributed
  • Number of contributions
  • Date range of giving
  • Average contribution size

Contribution History​

A complete list of contributions including:

  • Date of each contribution
  • Amount
  • Recipient (candidate/committee)
  • Type of contribution

Giving Patterns​

Visual breakdown of:

  • Contributions by recipient type
  • Giving over time
  • Party distribution (if applicable)

Filtering Donor Results​

Narrow your search with filters:

By Amount​

  • All contributions
  • Large donors ($1,000+)
  • Major donors ($10,000+)

By Date Range​

  • Current election cycle
  • Previous cycles
  • Custom date range

By Recipient Type​

  • Candidate committees
  • Party committees
  • PACs
  • Ballot measure committees

By Party​

  • Republican candidates
  • Democratic candidates
  • Non-partisan/other

Understanding Donor Data​

What's Included​

  • Name as filed with the Kansas Ethics Commission
  • Address (city and state)
  • Occupation/employer (when disclosed)
  • Contribution amounts and dates

What's Not Included​

  • Contributions below disclosure thresholds
  • In-kind contribution details (sometimes)
  • Anonymous or improperly disclosed contributions

Exporting Donor Data​

Professional plan users can export donor information:

  1. Perform a donor search
  2. Click Export
  3. Choose format (CSV or PDF)
  4. Download the file

Kansas law prohibits selling campaign finance data. Exports are for personal or journalistic use only.
